July 2008, Vinay Sharma visits INSA-Toulouse, France
Vinay Sharma, Technical Director-ni2designs, and co-developer of Mentor DSP software visited INSA-Toulouse in France to hold meetings and discussions with development team of Mentor-DSP regarding the enhancement of the already released Version I of the software, and also to introduce a feasible licensing policy for institutions in Asia-Pacific countries, including India.

The final version of the new software was showcased at Pune in July 2008; during a joint presentation by ni2designs, and a team of INSA-Toulouse. It received pressing appreciation from the audience, and was lauded for it’s easy to learn features.
June 2008, An article published on Mentor-DSP
Magnitudesigns, a technical journal, had published an article on Mentor-DSP titled “Interactive Teaching Aid for DSP”, written by Prof. Etienne Sicard of INSA-Toulouse, and Mahendran M.G., Design Engineer, ni2designs.
May 2008, Mentor-DSP unveiled
ni2designs unveiled Mentor-DSP, the new Learning Resource software for DSP based applications. The announcement is part of a core strategy of ni2designs to introduce new tools and technologies for Indian and global audience.
The release of Version-1 is on schedule with the product roadmap ni2designs laid out last year.
Vinay Sharma, co-developer of Mentor DSP, said that for him, the two most striking aspects of Mentor-DSP are its ease of learning and its potential for diversified DSP applications.
“Mentor DSP had come after 20 months of intense research and development, including interviews, user acceptance testing and input from more than 50 experts from the field of DSP”
The software is not developed to replace your thought process, but it does give you ease of operation and a method to get answers to DSP problems and applications in a more practical way, ending your over dependence on text book knowledge.
